Humility Opens the Heart to Wisdom and Godly Instruction
One of the battles every believer must win is the battle against pride. A proud heart may hear wisdom yet reject correction, while a humble heart remains teachable, listens, asks questions, and receives godly instruction. Scripture teaches that wisdom rests with the lowly. Jesus Christ showed perfect humility through His obedience to the Father. True greatness is not opposed to humility; it is revealed through service, submission, and obedience. We walk in humility when we listen before responding, admit our mistakes, accept correction without anger, seek wise counsel, apologize when necessary, and give God the glory for our progress. Humility does not reduce us. It makes room for God to increase us. Lord Jesus, deliver me from pride and self-sufficiency. Give me a humble, teachable heart that receives correction, learns from others, and walks in Your wisdom. Amen.
