Soludo Unveils Pilgrimage Lottery to Widen Access for Anambra Residents
The Anambra government has announced plans to expand religious pilgrimage opportunities for all citizens, regardless of economic background. Senior Special Assistant on Pilgrims Affairs, Barr. Odira Ezeh, met with Dr. Chibuike Ofobuike, chairman of the Augusta Local Government Area and head of the LG chairmen committee, to outline this vision. Under the leadership of the Deputy Governor, the Christian Pilgrims Office is rolling out new policies aimed at transparency, accountability, and efficiency. A Pilgrimage Lottery Programme will ensure fair selection and broader participation in national and international pilgrimages. Local government chairmen are key to mobilising and sensitising eligible pilgrims at the grassroots. Dr. Ofobuike welcomed the initiative and pledged full support to help residents benefit from the enhanced pilgrimage programmes.
