Pep Guardiola has revealed his one major regret during his time at Manchester City – letting Joe Hart go. After taking charge in 2016, he chose Claudio Bravo for his skill on the ball and made Hart available for transfer. Hart spent the 2016–17 season on loan in Italy before returning to England with West Ham, missing out on the 2018 World Cup as Jordan Pickford took his England spot. Bravo struggled in the Premier League and City signed Ederson the following year, who went on to help win most of Guardiola’s 20 trophies. Reflecting on his decision, Guardiola confessed he should have given Hart a chance to prove himself. He said that sometimes managers don’t make the fairest calls and admitted he would do things differently if he could turn back time.
