‘Least Bothered’: Sowore’s Defiant Stand After Kuje Prison Remand

‘Least Bothered’: Sowore’s Defiant Stand After Kuje Prison Remand

Omoyele Sowore says he is unfazed after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his remand in Kuje Correctional Centre. The judge revoked his bail and issued a bench warrant when he failed to appear for his cyberstalking trial. Sowore’s new counsel filed a motion to stay the revocation order, insisting his absence was due to consultations with the legal team. Despite this, the judge directed that he remain in custody until the stay application is heard on June 24. In a post on his social media, Sowore declared he was “the least bothered” by imprisonment. He urged Nigerians and his supporters to stay resolute in the fight for a “genuine revolution” against oppression and injustice. The Department of State Services is prosecuting Sowore for allegedly calling President Tinubu “a criminal” on his social media pages.

Why do you think Sowore remains unfazed after the judge revoked his bail and issued a bench warrant?

He's keeping cool, probably banking on strong support and solid belief in his cause.

It's interesting how Sowore claims to be 'least bothered' despite serious consequences from missing his trial appearance.

I'm not convinced that defiance helps his cause when legal strategy seems overshadowed by headline seeking.

Perhaps focusing on timely court appearances and clear legal motions could strengthen Sowore's position more than public defiance.
