Peter Singabele Named Chairman of Bayelsa United’s Five-Member Interim Board

Peter Singabele, a former Nigeria Football Federation board member, has been appointed chairman of a five-person interim management committee for Bayelsa United FC. The appointment was confirmed by Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Peter Akpe. The committee replaces the dissolved board led by Tarilaye Amankwe and will manage club affairs for six months. Ken Akpolaemi Odogu will serve as secretary, joined by Braveman Wodi, Godson Ekadi and Ono K. Akpe. Deputy Governor Akpe said Governor Douye Diri expects the committee to secure immediate promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League. Bayelsa United last won the NPFL title in 2009 but were relegated at the end of the 2025/2026 season.
