Should I Fight Men Who Try to Take Women I’m Dating?

Some guys see me with a woman and start trying to embarrass me in front of her, apparently hoping she will lose interest in me. This has happened more than once, but I have never wanted to get physical over it. I believe that if a woman genuinely likes me, I should not have to fight another man to keep her. Yet, these women often pull away when other guys interfere, and it is becoming frustrating. One guy even said within my hearing, “They have taken this guy’s wife again.” These guys have money too, although not more than I do. Should I start confronting men who interfere, remain single for now, or simply wait to meet someone who will not leave because another man tries to impress or intimidate her?

What usually happens after they try to embarrass you: does the woman engage with them, or does she notice the behaviour for what it is?

Are you assuming another person can simply take someone you are dating, or is there a specific boundary being crossed?

Your instinct not to get physical makes sense. Someone trying to create competition in public may be revealing more about themselves than about you.

Maybe, but framing it as men taking someone can miss her own choice in the situation.

I agree fighting is unnecessary, but it may help not to assume every interaction is a deliberate attempt to take the woman from you.

Stay calm, avoid arguing for an audience, and speak privately with the woman afterward if the situation bothers you. Her response should guide your next move.
