Ogbeide-Ihama Stuns Ize-Iyamu, Imasuen to Win APC Edo South Senatorial Primary

Omorgie Ogbeide-Ihama has emerged winner of the APC primary for Edo South Senatorial District with 27,154 votes. He defeated serving Senator Ned Imasuen, who scored 13,580 votes, and former governorship candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu with 6,785 votes. He led across all seven local government areas. His highest tally was 5,517 votes in Ikpoba-Okha. He also polled 4,263 in Ovia South West, 3,950 in Oredo, and solid numbers in Ohuanmhe, Ovia North East, Orhionwon, and Egor. An engineer-turned-politician, Ogbeide-Ihama served two terms in the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023. He is known for his strong grassroots structure in Edo South. His victory is viewed as a major upset over two senior APC figures in the state.
