My Holy Spirit Baptism Experience at Dominion City Abakaliki

I grew up in the Catholic Church but began to question practices like praying for the dead and purgatory. The Bible teaches one mediator between God and men, so I searched for a church that aligned more closely with scripture. After visiting several congregations, I settled on Dominion City in Abakaliki. On my first visit to the headquarters, new worshippers were invited to a small office for an introduction to the church’s vision and mandate. The pastor asked who had never received the Holy Spirit baptism. We sang praise and prayed. He spoke in tongues and encouraged us to open our hearts to receive the Spirit. I felt a strong wind, lost control, and found myself rolling on the ground. I couldn’t speak or stand normally until the prayer team helped me to a seat in the main hall for the second service.
