Nigerian Supporters’ Clubs Demand Inclusion in Football Governance Reforms
Five major Nigerian football supporters’ clubs have welcomed ongoing efforts to reform the administration of the sport. In a joint statement at the National Stadium in Lagos, the groups said supporters should be recognised as key stakeholders rather than treated as mere spectators in the restructuring process. The clubs backed a broad and consultative reform process that includes all recognised football stakeholders. They also commended the National Sports Commission and President Bola Tinubu for supporting an overhaul of football governance.
