Lawal told Politics Today on national television that Rotimi Amaechi’s active primary efforts stood in stark contrast with Atiku’s quiet approach. He said party members expected a fierce contest and were impressed by Amaechi’s outreach, while Atiku’s minimal public campaigning raised questions. The ex-SGF resigned from the ADC days after the primary, alleging irregularities and accusing Atiku of manipulating the process to his favour.
