Trabzonspor Sack Fatih Tekke After Europa League Exit Despite Onuachu, Nwaiwu Efforts

Trabzonspor have parted ways with manager Fatih Tekke after the club’s 4-0 defeat to Ferencvaros in the UEFA Europa League play-off round ended their European campaign. Tekke reportedly offered to resign after the loss, but the club initially asked him to remain in charge for their upcoming Turkish Super Lig match against Amedspor. The board later reversed that decision and ended his tenure. Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu and defender Chibuike Nwaiwu were key players under Tekke, but their contributions could not prevent his exit. Tekke had guided Trabzonspor to third place in the league and won the Turkish Cup after taking over in March 2025.
