Troy Deeney Says Chelsea Still Need Victor Osimhen
Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney believes Victor Osimhen could solve Chelsea’s centre-forward problem. Speaking on a sports programme, he compared the Nigerian striker’s work rate, movement and ability to occupy defenders to Didier Drogba’s style of play. Deeney also said Osimhen’s pressing and runs behind the defence could suit Xabi Alonso’s system and create space for Chelsea’s attacking players. Chelsea pursued Osimhen during his time at Napoli before he moved to Galatasaray. The report says Osimhen continues to attract interest in England and Europe, with a possible move in summer 2027 to watch. That prospect remains speculative.
