Troops Rescue 16 Kidnapped Civilians, Dismantle Terrorist Supply Network in Multi-State Operations
The Nigerian Army says its troops have rescued 16 kidnapped victims and arrested several suspected terrorist logistics suppliers across multiple states in the last 24 hours. According to an operational update released in Abuja, troops of Operation HADIN KAI intercepted a suspected ISWAP informant in Borno and recovered her mobile phone and personal effects. In Kaduna, Operation FANSAN YAMMA forces repelled an ambush, recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine and 50 rounds of ammunition. In Sokoto, soldiers freed 16 abductees unharmed and recovered motorcycles left behind by fleeing terrorists. Four alleged logistics suppliers were handed over to the Department of State Services in Kebbi after troops intercepted a bus carrying motorcycles meant for a known terror figure. Elsewhere, troops of Operations MESA, ENDURING PEACE and WHIRL STROKE arrested suspects, recovered arms, ammunition, rustled cattle and illicit drugs following raids in Taraba, Plateau and Bassa local government areas.
