John the Baptist warned that lineage alone cannot save. He urged “fruits worthy of repentance” (Matthew 3:8–10), and Jesus echoed this by rebuking hypocritical leaders whose works contradicted true faith (Matthew 23:15; John 8:44). This shows that any relationship with God demands genuine repentance. As Revelation 3:15–16 warns, lukewarm faith can be rejected unless we truly turn from iniquity.
