Alimosho APC Turmoil: How Parallel Power Blocs Led to Our Defeat
The roots of Alimosho’s APC crisis trace back to the 2019 primaries. After Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire’s preferred candidate lost, he defected to the Accord Party, setting a precedent for anti-party manoeuvres. In 2022, members of Bisi Yusuf’s camp openly supported Labour Party activities in Alimosho. These parallel structures and intelligence networks intensified internal tensions, yet no disciplinary action followed. When the APC lost Alimosho in 2023, Abdullahi Enilolobo was scapegoated despite no role in the cross-party schemes. With both blocs now tentatively reuniting around new candidates, the lessons of 2023 will shape preparations for 2027.
