Havertz Dismisses Lineker’s Critique Ahead of Paraguay Clash

Kai Havertz has hit back at Gary Lineker’s assertion that this German squad ranks among the weakest in history. He spoke out ahead of their Round of 32 match with Paraguay, shrugging off the outside noise. Lineker, a former World Cup Golden Boot winner, said France would reach the quarter-finals “without any problem” and suggested Germany is living off past glories after recent group-stage exits. Havertz replied that criticism is nothing new for the side. “Everyone is entitled to their opinion but no one in our squad pays much attention to these comments,” he said. He added that German fans and media already supply plenty of critique at home. “It’s always easy to criticise us from the outside. But I really couldn’t care less,” the Arsenal striker insisted, as Germany prepares to face Paraguay.

Do you think Lineker's verdict on this German squad is fair or just overselling the criticism ahead of their Paraguay match?

What part of Lineker's criticism feels overblown, especially with Havertz defending the team lately?

Considering Germany's recent form, it's hard to dismiss Lineker's point entirely, even if it feels a bit dramatic.

Are we sure Germany's recent matches justify Lineker's critique, or is he exaggerating their struggles?

I get the frustration with critics, but shrugging it off so easy might ignore valuable feedback on team weaknesses.

They should focus on strengthening midfield link-up and set-piece routines before facing Paraguay to silence speculation.
