Osimhen Scores but Leaves Injured as Galatasaray Beat Basaksehir 3-2
Victor Osimhen scored Galatasaray’s opening goal before leaving injured in their dramatic 3-2 Turkish Super Lig win over Istanbul Basaksehir. The Nigerian striker scored in the 16th minute, his sixth goal of the season, but was substituted in the 32nd minute after appearing to suffer a muscle problem. Baris Alper Yilmaz replaced him. Basaksehir equalised through Eldor Shomurodov’s penalty, while Lucas Torreira restored Galatasaray’s lead. Davinson Sanchez then scored an own goal before Basaksehir’s Umut Bozok was sent off. Gabriel Sara struck the winning goal in the 91st minute to keep Galatasaray’s strong start to the season intact. Osimhen’s injury will be a major concern for the club and Nigeria supporters.
