A woman has sparked debate after saying she married a businessman her friend once dated but claimed she did not want. She said her friend often criticised the man’s dressing and Igbo accent, and admitted she stayed in the relationship mainly because of the financial benefits. Months after they stopped seeing each other, the woman said she met him again at a shopping mall and they began talking. According to her, their friendship grew into a relationship and later marriage. She said she only informed her friend after their introduction. The woman alleged that her friend then accused her of betrayal and began contacting her husband with claims about her past. She said she has tried to settle the dispute but believes the repeated calls are intended to damage her marriage.
