Favour Epiphany Bessan, known as Favy, was crowned the inaugural MasterChef Nigeria champion on 19 July 2026. The 26-year-old content strategist from Shomolu, Lagos, claimed the trophy and a ₦73 million cash prize. In a thrilling finale, Favy went head-to-head with renewable energy expert Fads Segun. Judges Chef Stone and Chef Eros tasked them with creating a three-course menu that reflected their culinary identity. When Chef Stone urged them to “Cook from your heart,” Favy’s dishes stood out. MasterChef Nigeria launched on 26 April 2026 and ran for 13 weeks. Ten home cooks, including David Emmanuel, Demi Akingbe and Isabella Adediji, faced mystery boxes, team cook-offs and pressure tests that tested their skill and creativity under pressure. Produced by Primedia Africa, this first season delivered excitement and showcased local talent. Favy’s victory sets the stage for an eagerly awaited second season.
