They stressed that their appeal is for medical intervention rather than donations. The family said they only recently learned how serious his condition was. They also acknowledged financial support from Senator Solomon Adeola while continuing to seek specialist care. Taiwo Hassan is a prominent figure in Yoruba cinema, with a career spanning more than four decades and appearances in hundreds of films. The family has not disclosed the type of cancer or the hospital involved.
