Ogun ADC Splits as Rival Factions Elect Two State Chairmen
The African Democratic Congress in Ogun State has deepened its crisis with parallel congresses naming two different chairmen. One congress at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, led by Dimeji Fabiyi and supervised by national officer Olatunji Shoyinka, produced Emmanuel Famojuro. Fabiyi’s faction insists the exercise followed party guidelines and calls for unity through grassroots mobilisation. Meanwhile, a separate meeting at the party secretariat in Itoko under Rasheed Salvador returned Dr. Femi Soluade as chairman along with other executive officers. Soluade’s group rejects the OOPL congress as illegitimate, highlighting the rift ahead of the 2027 elections.
