INEC Releases 2026/27 Election Timeline: Access Codes, Nomination Deadlines & Campaign Dates

INEC will release portal access codes on June 26, 2026. Political parties can collect codes at INEC headquarters in Abuja. The nomination portal opens June 27 to July 11 for Presidential and National Assembly filings. It reopens July 18 to August 8 for Governorship and State Assembly candidate uploads. Final lists for Presidency and NASS follow on August 15, with withdrawal deadlines on August 25 and hard-copy submissions by August 29. Presidential and National Assembly campaigns run from September 23, 2026, to January 15, 2027. Governorship and State Assembly campaigns begin December 2, 2026, and end February 4, 2027. Election Day for the Presidency and NASS is January 16, 2027. Governorship and State Assembly polls are on February 6, 2027. Good luck to all emerging candidates.
