FG Renames Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway in Honour of President Tinubu
The Federal Government has officially renamed the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Coastal Highway. Works Minister David Umahi announced the change in Abuja, citing Tinubu’s 27-year vision for the project from his time as Lagos State governor. Umahi also revealed that the President approved a 400-kilometre extension of the Fourth Legacy Highway and reconstruction of key sections of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. The first 47.47-kilometre, six-lane carriageway from Victoria Island to Lekki will include a 25-metre median reserved for a future railway line. Additional approvals cover the dualisation of 400 kilometres of the East–West Road, completion of the abandoned Ibi Bridge in Taraba State, and construction of the 5.76-kilometre Lao Bridge. These projects aim to improve national connectivity and stimulate economic growth.
