Kanayo O. Kanayo Remembers Olu Jacobs’ Discipline and High Standards on Set
Kanayo O. Kanayo has paid tribute to Olu Jacobs, recalling the late actor’s professionalism, preparation and commanding presence on set. He said Jacobs arrived ahead of call time, knew his lines thoroughly and expected younger actors to take their craft seriously. According to Kanayo, Jacobs corrected performers calmly while encouraging them to improve. Kanayo also recalled acting alongside Jacobs in a film produced in Benin, where Jacobs played a king and he played the prince. Olu Jacobs built a career spanning British theatre, international productions and Nigerian cinema, and was widely regarded as one of Nollywood’s leading figures.
