LAWMA Plans CCTV Rollout Across Lagos to Tackle Illegal Waste Dumping
The Lagos Waste Management Authority plans to install surveillance cameras at strategic locations across Lagos to identify and deter illegal waste dumping. The cameras will work alongside the Lagos State Command Centre to monitor environmental violations and support sanctions against offenders. LAWMA says the plan combines technology, enforcement and public awareness to improve sanitation. The agency also expects 150 additional waste trucks and house-to-house collection interventions to improve refuse evacuation in affected areas. Residents have been urged to use approved waste operators, package refuse properly and report indiscriminate dumping.
