Jesus, God’s Chosen Servant (Matthew 12:15–21)

This passage shows Jesus stepping away from the crowds to heal everyone who was ill. He asked them to keep these miracles private so Isaiah’s prophecy could be fulfilled. Isaiah spoke of a servant chosen by God who would bring justice without shouting or breaking the weakest reed. Like a smoldering wick, he would not snuff out hope but carry it to victory. In his name, all nations find their hope and anticipate the justice he will proclaim.
