Mendieta Says Haaland Could Suit Barcelona Better Than Real Madrid

Former Barcelona midfielder Gaizka Mendieta believes Erling Haaland could be a strong fit for Barcelona if he eventually leaves Manchester City. Mendieta said Haaland’s pace, runs behind defenders and physical presence in the penalty area could work well in Hansi Flick’s system. He added that both Barcelona and Real Madrid could pursue the Norwegian striker. However, he stressed that any move remains speculative and would depend on City’s success in the coming seasons. Mendieta expects Haaland to command a transfer fee well above €100 million if he becomes available.
