FG to Revive Nigeria–Uganda Joint Commission, Unlocking New Trade and Investment Opportunities

The Federal Government has announced plans to reactivate the Nigeria–Uganda Joint Commission. It aims to deepen trade, investment and broader economic cooperation between both nations. During a recent diplomatic meeting, officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen bilateral ties. The commission will provide a platform to tackle trade barriers, attract private sector participation and promote growth in agriculture, manufacturing, energy, education, technology and tourism. This renewed partnership is expected to facilitate regular policy dialogue and create an enabling environment for businesses. It also aligns with Nigeria’s drive for regional integration under the African Continental Free Trade Area.
