Lagos Urges Public Housing Residents to Champion Cleanliness and Safety

Lagos Urges Public Housing Residents to Champion Cleanliness and Safety

The Lagos State Government has called on public housing residents to join monthly environmental sanitation and community safety programmes for well-managed estates. At a recent stakeholder engagement in Amuwo-Odofin, the Commissioner for Housing, represented by the Permanent Secretary, highlighted the vital role residents play in protecting shared infrastructure and complying with estate regulations. The session covered fire safety, consumer rights, insurance, domestic violence prevention and emergency preparedness. Residents raised concerns about power supply, security, sanitation, water systems and recreational facilities, and ministry officials outlined planned interventions. Leaders of the LagosHOMS Amuwo-Odofin Residents Association commended the initiative, and the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing stakeholder engagement and responsive estate management.
