Iran Rebukes Trump’s 15-Point Peace Plan, Issues Its Own Ceasefire Terms

Iran has formally rejected the 15-point peace proposal put forward by President Trump. Tehran told mediators that the U.S. plan was unacceptable and outlined its own conditions for ending the war. Under Iran’s demands, the Islamic Republic would gain control over the Strait of Hormuz and secure the safety of its regional allies. It also calls for a full American military withdrawal from the Gulf, reparations for past attacks, an end to all sanctions and an unlimited missile program. In contrast, Trump’s outlined plan would require Iran to dismantle its nuclear capabilities, forgo enrichment, hand over its uranium stockpile and curb regional proxy networks. In return, the proposal offered sanctions relief, U.S. support for a civilian nuclear program and removal of any automatic snapback mechanism.

Mediators should prioritize clear timelines and verification measures to bridge U.S. and Iranian proposals before any conditions on the Strait.
