My Father Found a Suspected Charm Hidden in Our Kitchen

This is a true story I heard about a family in the 1990s. I will withhold names because the people involved are from a wealthy family. One Saturday morning, while cleaning the kitchen during the weekly sanitation exercise, a father found a suspected charm hidden behind a shelf. Four people lived in the house at the time: the couple, their two sons and the wife’s younger brother. The father took the object outside and burned it. The wife’s younger brother was later accused of placing it there. The narrator also claimed that some of the wife’s relatives disliked the father and had previously mocked his purchases, including a car that allegedly turned out to be faulty after a relative bought it on his behalf. The situation became more troubling when the father later fell ill and eventually died. Before his death, the family reportedly heard a visitor say they were already praying for him to die. The events that followed his death were said to be even more disturbing.

Finding something suspicious during an ordinary weekly cleaning would understandably make a household feel unsettled.

It is worth being careful with the word charm, though; an unfamiliar hidden item is not automatically proof of anything supernatural.

The sensible response is to avoid panic, document what was found, and involve trusted family members before drawing conclusions.
