Faith in Action: Why Knowledge Guides Your Belief
God’s people perish for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Faith alone can be misdirected and unproductive without understanding the Word. True victory comes when faith is guided by knowledge. In the wilderness, Jesus faced Satan’s temptations. He refused to turn stones into bread. He also rejected a misquoted promise about temple angels (Matt. 4:3-7). His responses show the power of applying Scripture. Psalm 119:105 calls God’s Word “a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Knowledge gives faith direction and stability. As Peter writes, “Add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge” (2 Pet. 1:5). Let us pray: “Father, thank you for your Word that fills my spirit and directs my faith. I reject ignorance and walk in truth, in Jesus’ Name, Amen.” Further study: Proverbs 11:9; 2 Peter 1:2-3; Colossians 1:9. Reading plan: Mark 14:53-72; Numbers 29-31; Acts 26:24-32; Psalm 71-72.
