I have noticed that some people mistake lavish spending for love or commitment. Some women may expect expensive gifts, costly phones, luxury hair and elaborate birthday celebrations, even when they would not make similar sacrifices themselves. I do not think financial comfort should mean spending without sense. Even someone earning well should save, invest and prepare for uncertain times, because income can change unexpectedly. My concern is that a person who is reckless with money may be careless in other parts of life too. A healthy relationship should value responsibility, mutual effort and financial wisdom, not just extravagant displays.
