South Korean Actor Park Dong-bin Dies at 56
South Korea’s entertainment industry is mourning the loss of veteran actor Park Dong-bin. He was found dead on April 29 inside his restaurant in Pyeongtaek, where he had been preparing to open a new branch. Local police report no immediate signs of foul play and no suicide note has been discovered. Investigations into the exact cause of death are ongoing. Park is survived by his wife of six years, Lee Sang-yi, and their three-year-old daughter, Jiyu. In a moving 2024 interview, he spoke about Jiyu’s battle with hypoplastic left heart syndrome and his fears of not being able to care for her as an older father. A wake has been scheduled at the Domin Funeral Hall in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, with burial to follow at Woosung Memorial via the Yongin Forest of Peace.
