Osimhen Targets Galatasaray Record as Stuttgart Visit Istanbul
Victor Osimhen could make Galatasaray history when they host VfB Stuttgart in the UEFA Champions League tonight. The Nigerian striker has scored eight goals in the competition and needs a brace to match Burak Yılmaz’s club record of 10. Hakan Şükür leads Galatasaray’s list with 13 goals. Galatasaray have not beaten a German club at home in UEFA competition since a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt in 1992–93. They have since gone nine home matches against German opposition without a victory. This will be the clubs’ first meeting in European competition. Osimhen has recorded 14 goals and five assists in 19 European appearances for Galatasaray.
