JIBWIS Denounces Viral Video Allegedly Threatening Attack on Enugu
Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has condemned a viral video showing a man in its First Aid Group uniform allegedly calling for an armed attack on Enugu. The organisation’s national chairman, Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau, asked the DSS, Police and other security agencies to identify the man, investigate the video and prosecute anyone found responsible. JIBWIS said the alleged threats do not represent its teachings or objectives. It stressed that wearing its uniform does not prove that a person is acting with its approval, and reaffirmed its commitment to religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence.
