Landmark $496m UK–Nigeria Dairy Venture to Transform Local Milk Industry
United Kingdom–based Asset Green Limited and the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority are partnering on a $496 million integrated dairy project. The plan includes a 20,000-hectare climate-smart forage farm and a 10,000-cow dairy ranch. A high-tech factory will produce fresh milk, milk powder, butter, cream and 15,000 tonnes of infant formula annually. The scheme is set to generate about $620 million in yearly revenue, create 2,500 direct jobs and support 5,000 ancillary roles across Nigeria. The initiative also aims to link 10,000 rural households to the dairy value chain through out-grower schemes. Officials say this collaboration builds on past UK support to boost Nigeria’s food security and drive long-term economic growth.
