Ebonyi APC Pledges Dialogue, Won’t Sanction Aspirants Defying Consensus
The Ebonyi chapter of the All Progressives Congress says it will not punish aspirants who purchase nomination forms despite its consensus agreement. State party chairman Chief Stanley Okoro-Emegha explained that the party will engage defiant members through dialogue rather than impose sanctions. He noted that aspirants have the right to contest but should respect the endorsements of party leaders. He added that the party awaits official lists of form buyers from national headquarters before confirming any defiance. Okoro-Emegha urged aspirants to consult the governor, who serves as the party’s father and can advise in its best interest. The chairman also appealed to the media for restraint in covering the consensus process, warning against overzealous reporting and stressing that all stakeholders were actively involved in the arrangement.
