ABU VC Hails Uba Sani’s Major Road Upgrade as First in 40 Years

ABU VC Hails Uba Sani’s Major Road Upgrade as First in 40 Years

The Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, has praised the Kaduna State Governor’s ongoing reconstruction of internal campus roads as the largest intervention in over four decades. Ahmed noted that ABU’s engineers are collaborating on the project to ensure top quality. He said the work has exceeded expectations and will serve the university for decades. Officials from the Kaduna State Roads Agency confirmed the project is part of some 150 road initiatives across the state. Students, staff and the SUG president have also applauded the governor for improving accessibility and restoring the campus image. The intervention underscores the value of federal-state collaboration in education and sets a benchmark for other northern governors to follow.

Forty years is a long gap for such a project, but I wonder if the reconstruction plan fully addresses drainage or safety features along those routes.

It's great news, but focusing on roads alone ignores labs and lecture halls that might urgently need funding this year.
