Prayers and Empowerment: What Prostitutes Really Need
It’s easy to judge or look away. But the most human act is to pause, see her story, and ask how she got here. Behind every woman in prostitution is hardship—poverty, abandonment, abuse or trafficking. Compassion doesn’t excuse her situation, but it calls us to act. Start with prayer that brings hope, not shame. Then back it up with empowerment—skills training, microfinance, safe shelters and counselling. Treat her with respect and dignity. Finally, support policies and organisations that tackle the structural issues pushing women into sex work. Solidarity tells her she is worth more than her circumstances—and that her story is not over.
