Bandits ‘Copied’ Kidnapping Tactics from Billionaire Captor Evans, Says Sheikh Gumi
Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has claimed that Nigeria’s armed kidnappers learned their methods from notorious billionaire kidnapper Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, widely known as Evans. Reacting on Facebook to reports of illegal arms manufacturing sites uncovered in Vom, Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State, Gumi linked the discovered factories to tactics popularised by Evans. Evans became infamous between 2012 and 2017 for abducting wealthy victims and demanding huge ransoms in Lagos. Gumi warned that today’s bandits have studied his playbook and are replicating his approach.
