Iran Enlists Psychologists to Customize Diplomatic Messages for ‘Mentally Ill’ Trump

Iran has hired senior psychologists to review and adapt messages for US President Donald Trump during indirect talks. Officials say he is “operating in an impaired mental state” and a psychological profile was created to guide communication. Treating the interaction “like dealing with a patient” has reportedly led to some progress in negotiations. Mediators from Qatar and Turkiye also raised concerns about the president’s consistency amid reports of bruising, swollen ankles and drowsiness at meetings. The shift comes as the US narrowly avoided approving an invasion plan to seize Iranian uranium. Trump halted the proposal over fears of strong Iranian retaliation, global economic fallout and high casualties. Iran’s foreign minister says a proposed memorandum would formally end regional conflicts, including in Lebanon, but insists Israel must withdraw from Lebanese territory first.
