Ajax Plan to Sign Tolu Arokodare Permanently as Striker Seeks Pay Rise
Ajax technical director Jordi Cruyff says the club plans to use its €20 million purchase option to sign Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare permanently from Wolverhampton Wanderers. He said the main details are in place, though Arokodare has asked to renegotiate his salary after a strong start in Amsterdam. Arokodare joined Ajax on a season-long loan for the 2026/27 campaign. After scoring six goals and providing two assists in 38 appearances for Wolves, he has hit 10 goals and three assists in 15 games for Ajax. He has scored six goals in 10 Eredivisie appearances, including the winner against AZ Alkmaar on October 31. Cruyff shared the update in a recent interview with a Dutch sports broadcaster.
