Super Eagles Winger Philip Otele Nears €3m Move to Lecce

Super Eagles winger Philip Otele is reportedly close to joining Serie A club Lecce from Swiss champions FC Basel. The 26-year-old spent last season on loan at Hamburger SV, scoring once in nine league appearances. The German club reportedly declined to activate a purchase option valued at between €4.5 million and €5 million. Lecce and Basel are expected to open direct talks to finalise a deal, with the Swiss club believed to be seeking about €3 million. Otele, who has made five appearances for Nigeria, is contracted to Basel until June 2028.
