15 NYSC Corps Members Reportedly Abducted in Kogi While Travelling to Abuja
Fifteen NYSC corps members were reportedly abducted by gunmen on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, along the Ofu/Itobe-Onicha-Igo axis in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State. The corps members, from the 2026 Batch B Stream II, were said to be travelling from the NYSC orientation camp in Bayelsa State to Abuja after completing their camp programme. They were reportedly travelling in two buses, including a Peace Mass Transit vehicle. A relative of one of the victims said the attackers shot at the vehicles before taking passengers away. The injured driver of one bus was reportedly taken to hospital, while families await further information on the abducted corps members.
