Ekiti Corps Member Alleges ₦20,000 Pay for Over 30 Hours of INEC Data Work

I am calling attention to what I consider unfair treatment of INEC ad-hoc staff and corps members in Ekiti East Local Government Area, Ekiti State. As a serving corps member and data analyst, I was assigned to compile deployment and account-record spreadsheets for ad-hoc staff during the Ekiti State governorship election held on 20 June 2026. The work involved more than 30 hours of intensive data analysis, compilation and spreadsheet management. I received ₦20,000 for the assignment, an amount I believe does not reflect the workload or technical responsibility involved. I visited the INEC state office in Ado-Ekiti and raised the matter with the accountant, who said it would be reviewed. Ten days later, I have received no update or resolution. I urge INEC’s national headquarters, the Ekiti Resident Electoral Commissioner and relevant authorities to investigate this complaint and ensure that ad-hoc staff and corps members are paid transparently and fairly.
