Golden Eaglets Lose 3-2 to Tanzania in China Invitational Opener

Golden Eaglets Lose 3-2 to Tanzania in China Invitational Opener

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets suffered a 3-2 defeat to Tanzania in their opening match of the four-nation China International Youth Football Tournament. Tanzania took a 2-0 lead into halftime through goals from Issa Chole and Hamisi Chenga. The Eaglets responded after the break, cutting the deficit with a well-worked strike, but Kassim Juma soon restored Tanzania’s two-goal cushion. Despite another late goal for Nigeria, Tanzania held on for victory. Uwejamomere Eboboritse’s side now turn their attention to Wednesday’s match against Australia as they build towards the WAFU B U-17 Championship qualifier in September.
