Anthony Joshua Pledges to Support Parents of Friends Killed in Nigerian Crash
British-Nigerian heavyweight Anthony Joshua has vowed to stand by the families of two friends who died in a fatal car crash in Nigeria. He described his promise as being a “good soldier” for the parents, focusing on their needs before his own grief. Joshua returns to the ring on July 25 in Jeddah against Kristian Prenga. This bout marks his first fight since surviving the same accident that claimed the lives of longtime team members Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele. Joshua said boxing gives him purpose and therapy. He added that his own emotions would come later, but right now his priority is supporting the mums and dads of his departed friends.
