Jesus the Light: Understanding Belief and Unbelief Among the Jews (John 12:37-50)
Even after Jesus performed many signs, many still refused to believe in him. This fulfilled Isaiah’s prophecy: ‘Lord, who has believed our message?’ Their hearts were hardened, their eyes blinded, and they could not understand or turn to be healed. Despite this, some leaders believed but kept faith hidden for fear of the Pharisees and losing human praise. Jesus declared that believing in him means seeing the one who sent him. He came as a light so believers would not remain in darkness. He did not come to judge but to save. Yet those who reject his words will face judgment by those very words on the last day.
