Oshoala Appeals for Support as Super Falcons Face South Africa in World Cup Play-In
Asisat Oshoala has appealed to Nigerians to support the Super Falcons ahead of their decisive 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying play-in against South Africa. Nigeria lost 1-0 to Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Casablanca. The defeat ended the Falcons’ hopes of automatic qualification for the World Cup in Brazil and forced them into the tougher play-in route. The Super Falcons face South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on Thursday at 9 p.m. Nigerian time at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca. Oshoala apologised for the loss to Cameroon and said the players are determined to respond with a stronger performance.
